Avenue of the Giants- Dean Creek Campground

We left Eureka a day early due to an unpleasant RV family that would constantly yell at their kids, so we were out of there. We set out early to tour the Avenue of the Giants. Amazed at the tunnels of trees we were driving in at, so cool. We went on the Drury- Chaney 2.4 mile hike that was pretty spectacular. I felt as though several trolls were eyeing us as we ventured through, but then again maybe we were the trolls among these mighty gentle giants.

We decided to book one night at Dean Creek campground which would get us much closer to Mendocino. The campground advertised river access, a pool and an arcade! We settled in and decide to go to the river, possibly to float in it for a refreshing time. We never did find any flowing water, a campground lady told us if we did don't play in it, what??? We had dinner and thought we'd check out the arcade, it got too dark and we were creeped out of how every game must have been on making noises and music in a small rectangular rigged up building. I was ready to see Jason jump out at me! The next morning we met our RV neighbors, a couple from Switzerland with their 2 year old daughter. They had gotten their black water hose (poop & pee hose lol!) stuck in the ground so as they were waiting for campground maintenance. We cracked some jokes with them, I'm sure you could imagine!
